1Health is a vision for interprofessional education in which all AHC students entering into professional schools at the AHC must demonstrate competency during three phases of (Phase I: Orientation, Phase II: Building the Toolbox, Phase III: Authentic Experiences) their pre-professional development in the following areas by participating in interprofessional experiences and meeting defined competencies: Professionalism/Ethics, Communication and Teamwork. Collaborating Across Borders III, Nov 19-21, 2011

The Center for Interprofessional Education and the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative are pleased to announce Collaborating Across Borders III. Competencies for Interprofessional Collaboration

On May 10, 2011, two new reports were released by six national health professions associations and three private foundations recommending new competencies for interprofessional education in the health professions, and action strategies to implement them in institutions across the country. By establishing these competencies, the proponents believe our nation’s health care system can be transformed to provide collaborative, high-quality, and cost-effective care to better serve every patient.  To read news release and reports, click here.
